The Alliance is a way to work together on ideas for making the world a better place. To help one another. And to make the Promise--the more people who make and keep it, the better off we will be.
The Alliance logo represents the skin colors of we the people--together, our colors become one in The Alliance. In this full version of the logo, skin colors were taken from online photos of over 100 people of many races, and it's likely that something very close to yours is there. And here is a printable version. Set width for 10" wide or resolution to 200 dpi.
Membership in The Alliance is open to all who will:
- Make the Promise.
- Leave hates, religious creeds, political agendas outside.
- Keep discourse civil, intelligent, respectful (which is inherent in the Promise).
The Promise
I promise to help, the best I can.
Right now the Alliance is a blog, is a place to talk about ways to deal with getting people together in a community of self-interest to deal with gun violence and other issues. Perhaps nothing will come of it. Or perhaps people will come forward to turn the Alliance into a real force to bring better lives to all of us.
Who's behind it?
This website was created by Ray Rhamey, a writer and editor who created the idea of the Alliance in a novel, We the Enemy. He's a problem-solver by nature, and the novel is a novel of ideas meant to try on for size the idea of the Alliance.
He currently lives in Washington State, and is a writer, editor, and video producer at Washington State University. He's a native Texan, and also spent a lot of years in Chicago in the advertising business as a writer and creative director.
Ray has made the Promise, and works to live by it. Because he hopes like-minded people will want to get together, this is his effort at making the Alliance become a reality.
If you agree, let him know that you're making the Promise.
