I also like presnt tense. Liz, I have done the same thing-getting so caught up in the flowery I forgot the mood. : )

I am currently reading "The Hunger Games" which is in present tense. It does seem to provide more intensity to the story. I highly recommend the book, as it is very well written and is not just for teens, despite being YA. The pace is fast and wonderful, and I haven't been able to put it down for long.

I had another thought, Liz. Have you considered changing your title, making it more descriptive and unique? Just "Ghost" might not be very compelling to prospective readers, and may even be confused with other stories (or the movie of that name).

The Hunger Games is great! I was a little disappointed with the second book (Catching Fire). It fell a little flat for me. But I just got the third one and can't wait to start it. I hope it's as good or better than the first. And I agree. Present tense really works sometimes, especially when there's a lot of action that requires a sort of immediacy.
